Kinesio tape
Targeted bandaging with elastic and skin-friendly adhesive tapes has a positive impact on muscles, tendons, and fasciae. Kinesio taping is used in the treatment of strains, tension, back pain, and joint wear (osteoarthritis), as after-care following surgeries and injuries, and to treat lymphatic obstruction (oedema). The multi-coloured adhesive tape can be worn for a few days as long as there are no skin reactions.
In most cases, the costs are covered by private health insurance funds. Unfortunately, workers’ compensation boards and statutory health insurance funds do not reimburse the costs, and we will need to issue a private invoice. The cost of applying the tape is between 5 and 30 €, including the material, depending on the body area and size.

Conventional tape
A classic tape may help restore stability in case of sports injuries or, for example, a sprained ankle. If applied quickly, it may serve as an alternative to orthoses and bandages. It may help reduce swelling in the affected joint, which then has the chance to slowly become mobile again. The classic tape restricts the joint, and thus the mobility, more than the Kinesio tape.
Plastic splint (cast)
Broken bones or larger ligament tears can be treated conservatively using a splint as an alternative to surgery. The days when heavy and uncomfortable white plaster casts were used as a "cure-all" are long gone. Light and waterproof alternatives made from thin plastic are now available for treating a whole range of injuries and inflammatory disorders. Often, it is even possible to use special materials that allow showering without additional protection. Just ask us!
